In Cave To Cosmos, the indie crooning of Nick Cave and Alex Turner merges with the artistic radicalism of Mark Hollis (Talk Talk) and the melodic brilliance of Prefab Sprout. It is music for the evening and the night—finely balanced pop gems of almost irresistible melodic brilliance. The themes are transience and farewells, the beauty of things, and monolithic naturalistic imagery. It is a music full of longing and melancholy, but also of new beginnings.
